Under the golf
Wentworth Golf Course is seriously hype: it hosts three pro tournaments a year. In comparison, much less is known about the air raid shelter that lies beneath. The media and I don’t usually focus on the same subjects: Starting to guess what happens next?
After getting a few tips from DryPulse and having a quick look at the map, I felt prepared enough to search for 3 parallel pipes buried underground. My only clue: the end of one of them reaches the surface in some sort of a garden shed looking structure.

Naturally, my first thought was about getting hold of a few gardening tools and trying to look like I belonged. I was glad I actually didn’t since the dress code was quite strict.
It didn’t take long to find the entrance, and I quickly disappeared underground. The access lead to the central pipe, the thinnest of the 3. Regularly spaced doors lead to the wider side pipes, which are divided in about 10 rooms each.

The size of this shelter is quite impressive, but all the rooms look pretty much the same. Without the tea lights I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed the place more than 30 minutes!
